Questions frequently asked
Are there any other costs on top of the sweeping of my chimney?
We offer a standard charge for the chimney sweeping service we provide which allows us to keep it affordable for every household. There are no hidden costs. Dependant on the job required, we provide our prices upfront and this does not change. On some occasions we actually knock the price down depending on the job being undertaken.
How often should my chimney be swept?
We recommend once a year to sweep a chimney. This clears any build up of soot, checks for blockages, reduces soot falls and reassures customers that their fire is safe and ready to use.We offer an annual call back system as a reminder so you can keep on top of your fire.
What fuel should I burn?
Depending on your preference, smokeless fuel or kiln dried/seasoned wood is best.
What are some of your pet peeves when it comes to your work? ?
One pet peeve that some people don't realise is throwing crisp packets or chocolate wrappers on a fire is extremely dangerous. Because they are light and some chimneys have strong drafts, this can carry the waste up the chimney and if it has caught fire it can ignite the soot deposit within. This can lead to chimney fires putting households and family's health & safety at risk.
